Technical Experts Meeting on Following the Money in Trafficking in Persons

Given the rapid change of the trafficking in persons landscape in Southeast Asia, as well as the methods used to transfer and launder related illicit proceeds, the Regional Support Office of the Bali Process (RSO), ASEAN-Australian Counter Trafficking (ASEAN-ACT) and the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC) are holding a two-day Technical Experts Meeting on Following the Money in Trafficking in Persons from 4 to 5 June 2024.
Objectives:
1. Develop a shared understanding of current trends and challenges on illicit money flows associated with trafficking in persons and money laundering
2. Identify best practice and challenges in current financial investigations linked to trafficking in persons
3. Understanding illicit money flows from forced labour in selected industries (fishing, agriculture, and adult entertainment industry), and illicit money flows from forced criminality in cyber scam centre operations
4. Develop a shared understanding of the role of informal
