Bali Process Biometrics Roundtable: The Expanding Role of Biometrics at the Border

The Regional Support Office of the Bali Process (RSO) hosted the Bali Process Biometrics Roundtable: “The Expanding Role of Biometrics at the Border” in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 23-24, 2019.

The Roundtable brought together representatives from thirty-nine countries and six organizations and provided an opportunity to discuss the use of technology and biometrics in migration and border management, including challenges and opportunities relating to the implementation of biometrics-based solutions at the border.

The purpose of the Roundtable was to share experiences on the use of biometrics, learn about current and emerging trends, understand the role of biometrics in border management, and discuss possible areas for further collaboration and action coordinated by the RSO.

For further information on how the Bali Process and the RSO can support biometrics initiatives at the border, please contact info@rso.baliprocess.net or visit www.baliprocess.net.
