DESCRIPTION:In response to the growing challenges posed by the use of technology to facilitate trafficking in persons and people smuggling operations across Indonesia\, the RSO is hosting a four-day Technical Workshop in Jakarta\, Indonesia. The workshop aims to equip Indonesian law enforcement officers and criminal justice officials with open-source intelligence (OSINT) skills to proactively identify online recruiters\, detect and report fraudulent job advertisements on social media platforms\, and monitor evolving recruitment tactics used by criminal networks facilitating trafficking in persons and/or people smuggling.

DESCRIPTION:The RSO\, in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the International Labour Organization (ILO)\, will convene a Regional Workshop on Strengthening Compliance and Addressing Labour Issues in the Fishing Sector Supply Chain—bringing together government officials\, international organisations\, private sector actors\, fisheries associations\, and migrant worker representatives from Southeast Asia and the Pacific to identify regional priority actions to prevent exploitation in fishing supply chains. The workshop will focus on promoting fair and ethical recruitment practices\, improving access to effective grievance mechanisms for fishers and migrant workers\, and strengthening the integration of labour-sensitive approaches into vessel inspections.
