Eranga is an Immigration Investigations Officer at The Department of Immigration and Emigration of Sri Lanka.
He has worked as an Immigration officer since 2013. He has served as a front-line and investigations officer, with experience in verifying travel documents, conducting passenger assessments, identifying potential victims of trafficking in persons, unfolding irregular migration trends, researching modus operandi in migrant smuggling and preparing intelligence reports.
Eranga joined the RSO office as a Secondee in June 2024, and contributes to activities, workshops and capacity building programs alongside the Border and Management team. Specifically, he brings his expertise in providing training and building awareness around irregular migration. He also brings a wealth of knowledge around current developments in Sri Lanka, and works closely with international partners to coordinate efforts to address complex issues of irregular migration while respecting rights and dignity of individuals involved.
