UNHCR-RSO Screening and Referral Toolkit Project – Second Consultation with National Experts

The Regional Support Office of the Bali Process and UNHCR Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific jointly organized the second virtual consultation with 12 national experts from the Bali Process Member States: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand on 24 June 2021, from 10:00 -11:00 AM. (Bangkok time).

The consultation was part of a series of the project work plan that covers developing a screening and referral toolkit and training of frontline officials to manage reception and protection of vulnerable groups at the border.

During the second consultation, UNHCR and RSO have presented progress on developing a visual screening toolkit and sought advice on further improvement, operationalization, dissemination, and practical use of the toolkit from the national experts. Additionally, national experts have provided their inputs and specific comments on the screening toolkits for finalization.

RSO would like to express its sincere thanks to national experts who joined the consultation today and colleagues from UNHCR Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific for their partnership and for bringing their expertise to bear in developing the screening and referral toolkit.
