RSO publishes 2024-2026 Strategic Plan and Work Plan

The RSO is sharing its 2024-2026 Strategic Plan and 2024-2026 Work Plan, setting out support to Bali Process Member States and Bali Process Working Groups, in line with the 2023 Adelaide Strategy for Cooperation.

RSO Initiatives

The RSO Strategic Plan provides a roadmap for the RSO in delivering support to Bali Process Member States across efforts to counter people smuggling, trafficking in persons and related transnational crime—and to strengthen cooperation on refugee protection and international migration—in line with the 2023 Adelaide Strategy for Cooperation.

Central to the RSO’s 2024-2026 Strategic Plan are seven RSO Initiatives. The RSO 2024-2026 Work Plan sets out detail on how the RSO aims to support Bali Process Member States and Working Groups, through projects and activities against each of the seven RSO Initiatives.

The RSO’s seven Initiatives provide the framing through which the RSO has identified its priorities and work plan for 2024-2026.

RSO projects and activities have been reconciled against Bali Process objectives and priorities set out in the 2023 Adelaide Strategy for Cooperation, Bali Process Working Group Forward Work Plans, RSO Outcome Documents and other regional workplans to contribute to complementary efforts that align with Member State needs.

In the Strategic Plan Foreword, RSO Co-Managers David Scott (Australia) and Fuad Adriansyah (Indonesia) reflect: “This document outlines our collective vision for strengthening regional cooperation to address the challenges of people smuggling, trafficking in persons, and related transnational crime across the Bali Process region.

“We extend our gratitude to all Bali Process Members for their ongoing commitment and cooperation. As we move forward, we reaffirm our commitment to working together to build stronger, more resilient regional responses and cooperation through collective action.”

Opportunities for collaboration

The RSO welcomes requests from across the Bali Process membership, regional partners and stakeholders to discuss opportunities for collaboration within the RSO 2024-2026 Strategic Plan and Work Plan.
