As the RSO's Annual Meeting, the Constructive Dialogue serves as a crucial event in the RSO's calendar to engage across the Bali Process membership, to share learning and showcase progress and achievements across the Bali Process membership, and to ensure that we understand and are responsive to member needs and priorities.

Objectives

The objectives of the RSO Constructive Dialogue are to:

  • Convene Bali Process members and Working Groups to showcase progress and promising practices against the Adelaide Strategy for Cooperation, and to identify enduring challenges and barriers at a regional level
  • Reflect on discussions from the previous Constructive Dialogue, and objectives from the RSO Strategic Plan and Work Plan and Bali Process Working Group Forward Work Plans, and discussions from the RSO Border Forum.
  • Support updates from Bali Process members and Working Groups on ongoing and indicative activity that may be undertaken against the Adelaide Strategy for Cooperation, planned at a national and regional level.

Fourth RSO Constructive Dialogue

The Fourth RSO Constructive Dialogue convened some 95 senior officials and delegates representing a broad geography across 34 Bali Process Member and Observer States and Organisations, as well as thematic experts and representatives from civil society for two days of dialogue and knowledge exchange around the theme of ‘Migration Security and Protection: Collaborative Approaches for Resilient Systems’.
