A framework for cross-border cooperation and information sharing
The RILON Initiative provides a framework for cross-border cooperation and information sharing, by bringing Member States together through the establishment of time-limited RILON Response Groups, convened to address priority challenges.
Identification of focal points from relevant government agencies supports the bringing together of expert voices, regional on-the-ground knowledge and case management and decision-making capacity from the various different perspectives of law enforcement, border and immigration management, maritime agencies and other relevant departments.

The RSO welcomes proposals from Govenments that can in turn facilitate the establishment of RILON Response Groups around thematic priority challenges.
The estalishment of Response Groups is supported through short-term secondments of officers from participating Member States to the RSO in Bangkok, Thailand, providing a unique opportunity to strengthen cross-border partnership working in a dynamic, multi-agency, and multicultural environment.
