May 15, 2024 @ 8:00 am - May 16, 2024 @ 5:00 pm

This side event to the 33rd United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, organised by Australia with support from the RSO, Indonesia, the Philippines, and the Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime (GI-TOC), will explore the dynamics of the rapid development of technology and cyberspace and how technologies such as cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence, natural language processing software and social media have been used by organised crime. The event will explore how these technologies have supported an explosion of criminality, while also investigating how global and regional responses can be more effective.
