About the course
Transnational organised crime—including trafficking in persons, people smuggling, and related crimes—continues to threaten regional security and the vulnerable people across Southeast Asia. Addressing these challenges requires coordinated regional responses and practical knowledge tailored to the region’s unique geopolitical and social landscape. This Introductory Course on Transnational Organised Crime in Southeast Asia was created to meet this need.
Developed by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in partnership with the Regional Support Office of the Bali Process (RSO), this course introduces foundational concepts and strategies for addressing transnational organised crime through peaceful, law-based approaches. The course features expert-led video content, interactive activities, and regionally relevant case studies. It aims to build capacity among government officials, law enforcement personnel, and civil society actors working to disrupt criminal networks and enhance regional cooperation.
