The Regional Support Office of the Bali Process (RSO) is proud to continue its partnership with the Jakarta Centre for Law Enforcement Cooperation. The continued RSO-JCLEC partnership maintains a program of cooperation and training which brings together law enforcement and immigration management experts to build capacity and strengthen the capabilities of Member States.
Beyond our traditional offerings of border management training and practical exercises, the RSO has partnered with JCLEC to deliver a range of virtual training in the areas of information sharing to address trafficking in persons, people smuggling and related transnational crime.
On 24 November 2020, Mr. William (Bill) Laidlaw – Programme Coordinator at the RSO – delivered a presentation on information sharing to 25 Indonesian law enforcement officials including the Indonesian Attorney General, The Directorate General of Immigration, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, and the Indonesian National Police.
The delivered presentation was based on the Bali Process Guidelines for Information Sharing as well as the Quick Reference Guide (QRG) on Information Sharing, which is available upon request by emailing info@rso.baliprocess.net.
A second virtual training is planned to be delivered in January 2021 and will cover the same topic of Information Sharing, but with an added focus on Indonesian Maritime Agencies.
