Training Workshop on Enhancing Information Sharing to Address People Smuggling & Trafficking in Persons

Today (08 January 2021), the RSO – in partnership with the Jakarta Centre for Law Enforcement Cooperation (JCLEC) – delivered a second training workshop on Enhancing Information Sharing to Address People Smuggling and Trafficking in Persons.

The workshop was delivered virtually using JCLEC’s Online Delivery Model (ODM) and was attended by 23 officials from various agencies involved in the maritime space. Agencies included the Indonesian National Police (INP), Maritime Security Agency, Navy, Directorate General of Immigration, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The delivered presentation was based on the Bali Process’ Guidelines for Information Sharing and covered the RAAPT principles of information sharing (Relevance, Accuracy, Accountability, Partnership and Timeliness). A Quick Reference Guide (QRG) on information sharing is available upon request by emailing info@rso.baliprocess.net.

The RSO would like to thank Police Brigadier General Aby Nursetyanto – INP Executive Director of JCLEC – as well as all participants who were in attendance. We hope that this training workshop allows for improved coordination between the various agencies in attendance and builds your capacity in the fight against people smuggling, trafficking in persons and related transnational crime.

The RSO is proud to continue its partnership with JCLEC and will continue to work together to bring together law enforcement and immigration management experts to build capacity and strengthen the capabilities of Bali Process Member States.
